New Beginnings at Crumlin Integrated College
This year Crumlin Integrated College will open under the leadership of Mr Niall O’Hara. Originally from Belfast, but now living in Downpatrick, Mr O’Hara takes up the post with a wealth of Senior Leadership experience where he taught in Down High School. Already, he has been very impressed with the staff, pupils and indeed the wider Crumlin community.
Mr O’Hara is looking forward to leading the school on its journey to even further success and hopes to carry on with the excellent work of his predecessor, Mrs Lynda McGarry, who retired at the end of the school year. Mrs McGarry will be missed in the school, but it is reassuring to know that Mr O’Hara will capitalise on this excellent work. In partnership with the governors, Mr O’Hara foresees the school growing to even greater heights in the community.
Mr O’Hara expressed his good wishes to the Year 12 pupils who achieved excellent GCSE outcomes this year and wished them well in their career pathways.
“I look forward to getting to know the pupils of the College and working with our parents to ensure that every pupil achieves the education they deserve. This opens up a new chapter in my career and I look forward to many happy years at Crumlin Integrated College.”
Mr Brendan Loughran, the Chairman of the Board of Governors, commented, “The GCSE results, this year, reflect the hard work of a dedicated staff who ensure that lessons are pupil centred and challenging. Congratulations to our highest achieving pupils in Year 12: Janet Kaunda, Shane Macauley and Matthew Gordon, who all received commendable results reflecting their hard work and conscientious attitude towards learning.”
Extremely impressive results were attained in all departments, particularly, Art and Design, Double Award Science, Technology and Design and Occupational Studies (Business and Services) who all achieved 100% pass rate at grades A*-C.
We look forward to welcoming our new Year 8 pupils as they begin their post primary education at Crumlin Integrated College. Enrolment is still open and anyone who wishing to avail of a space is welcome to contact the school office and arrange an appointment with the Principal.
